Born into a family of artists and feeling compelled to continue the tradition, Gina worked as a painter while simultaneously taking administrative jobs to support her shoe habit. Having long had a passion for making clothing, she soon became known as the go-to girl for alterations, giving bridesmaid dresses a second life, and her specialty, designing one-of-a-kind dresses. She honed her craft at the School of Fashion Design in Boston where she fell in love with the art of silk painting. In 1997 she started ‘The Color Blue,’ a line of hand-painted silk clothing and accessories. She resides west of Boston where she enjoys crafting mystery fiction when she is not creating new designs at the Blue Skies Art Studios in Hudson, MA.
